Venture for a day off-the beaten jungle trek at Mount Alab for a day. As the trip takes you to the pristine primary rainforest of Crocker Range National Park, well known for its diversity of plants such as the Nepenthes and the Rafflesia. This climb offered to those adventure seekers and required you to have a very high level of fitness, tougher than Mount Kinabalu hike, as the Mount Alab trail is mostly a rugged terrain, and unspoiled! So don’t be surprise that you may have the jungle all to yourself, and though the hike is quite taxing but the views along the trail makes it worth it with the beautiful montane forest is one of the highlights.
Another highlight of the trip is the breathtaking Mahua Waterfall, take a chance to dip in the fresh cooling waterfall where its water came from the mountain.
6:00 am – Meet at your hotel for an hour and thirty minutes drive to the Mount Alab Crocker Range National Park.
7:30 am – Upon arrival and registration at the Sabah Parks registration counter, safety briefing by the mountain guide.
8:00 am – Hiking starts
12:00 pm – Estimated to arrive at Mount Alab peak (Minduk Sirung), which is the 6 km mark hike. Lunch en-route.
4:30 pm – Expected arrival at the Mahua Waterfall, to enjoy a dip in the waterfall.
5:00 pm – Starts to depart back for Kota Kinabalu, with an estimated arrival back at your hotel by 6.30 pm.
