Nestled in a relatively secluded part of Borneo, alongside the Delok River, Nanga Sumpa can be reached after a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Kuching, followed by an additional hour and a half aboard a longboat departing from the Batang Ai Lake jetty. This trip is ideally for those who are interested in the cultures of Borneo, where your stay with the Iban people, experience the Borneo rainforest, enjoy the pleasures of upriver travel and stay at our jungle lodge on this 3 days and 2 nights tour.

At 8:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Kuching to commence your trip to the Batang Ai reservoir. En route, we will make a stop at Lachau Bazaar, where you can leisurely explore the shops and small native market. Enjoy an early lunch at a local coffee shop before resuming the journey. Anticipate reaching Batang Ai Lake between 1330 and 1400 hours. Once there, you will board a longboat for a scenic upriver voyage to Nanga Sumpa, with an estimated arrival time of approximately 1530 hours, subject to river conditions. Upon arrival, settle into the comfortable accommodations provided by Borneo Adventure’s lodge and savor a delicious dinner. The evening will be at your leisure to relax and unwind. You will spend the night at the Nanga Sumpa lodge.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, embark on an invigorating jungle hike along the picturesque river trails. Following that, proceed further upriver aboard a longboat, heading towards the captivating Enseluai waterfall. Once you arrive, take some leisure time to unwind, swim, and immerse yourself in the enchanting rainforest surroundings. Indulge in a delightful riverside BBQ lunch skillfully prepared by your gracious Iban hosts.
Upon returning to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to visit the Nanga Sumpa longhouse after dinner. Relax on the ruai, the communal verandah, where you can engage with the welcoming Iban community and savor the company while enjoying the local rice wine. Rest peacefully overnight at the Nanga Sumpa lodge, embracing the serenity of the surroundings.

Start your day with a satisfying breakfast at the lodge. At 8:30 am, embark on a downriver journey towards the Batang Ai Lake jetty, expecting to arrive between 10:00 to 11:00 am. From there, continue your return journey to Kuching by land, with a well-deserved lunch provided along the way. Anticipate reaching Kuching at approximately 6:30 pm, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your memorable adventure.
