Drive up the scenic Crocker Range perhaps a chance to view the different faces of Mount Kinabalu the highest point in Borneo Island, en route to Kinabalu Park stop at the local native market where you will be amazed of the diverse types of bananas they have here. A must try is the ‘honey-pineapple’ which as to its name, with no explanation needed they are sweet and juicy.

Continue on to visit the Botanical Garden of Kinabalu Park, home to about 1,400 species of plants, fungi and animals endemic to Borneo. A gateway to a world of natural wonders. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Botanical Garden, a sanctuary that boasts an astounding 1,400 species of plants, fungi, and animals, all of which are found exclusively in the heart of Borneo. Allow your senses to awaken as you immerse yourself in this lush and unparalleled ecosystem.

As the day unfolds, we’ll leisurely wander through the enchanting Poring Canopy Walkway, a true highlight of our journey. Suspended high above the forest floor, this remarkable walkway offers a unique perspective of the vibrant ecosystem below.

With each step, you’ll be treated to breathtaking bird’s-eye views of the lush Ranau rainforest, where towering trees and exotic flora create a canopy of greenery stretching as far as the eye can see. The gentle sway of the walkway adds to the thrill, immersing you in the natural rhythm of the forest.

As we traverse the canopy walkway, keep your eyes peeled for glimpses of colorful birds, playful monkeys, and other fascinating wildlife that call this canopy home. The peaceful ambiance and serene beauty of this elevated stroll provide the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and appreciate the wonders of the rainforest from a whole new perspective.

Leave the hilly Kinabalu and travel along the well-known ‘Sandakan Route’ where the POW of some British and Australian soldiers were forced to march from Sandakan to Ranau during World War II. Upon arrival at Sepilok, following lunch check into your lodge and proceed to the nearby Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch the orang utan feeding session up and close. Watch the 25 minutes video show programme and visit the exhibition hall. After Sepilok, proceed to Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see world smallest bear in its natural environment.

After Breakfast. By 8.15 am depart to the jetty for Selingan island also known as turtle island. The journey by boat will take about 1 hour. Upon arrival check in and gear up for snorkeling by the beach area to spot a beautiful marine life. While waiting for dinner help yourself to watch the slideshow on the Selingan island and its turtle. After dinner, standby at the cafeteria and wait for the signal from the ranger before proceed in a small groups to the egg-laying site to see first hand the mother turtle laying eggs. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

After breakfast at around 7.00 am departs back to the mainland then proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Proceed to the orangutan feeding platform to view the orangutan feeding, following this take a visit to the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation center to get close to the world smallest bear.
Overland to the Kinabatangan river and check in to your accommodation. By 3.30 pm have some light refreshment before hop on the boat for afternoon cruise along the Kinabatangan river banks. Return back to your lodge, after dinner go on a nature walk

Wake up early to join the morning cruise at 6 am. Return to the lodge, breakfast and have a rest. Late morning depart for a guided jungle walk to experience the riverine forest. Trek back to the lodge, freshen up and lunch. Free and easy in the afternoon, laze around by the river lodge keep a watchful eyes for wildlife around the lodge area. Around Late afternoon get ready for another river cruise to a different part of the river in hope to see more wildlife.

Breakfast and by 8.30 am depart for Gomantong cave to explore the largest limestone & bird nests cave in Sabah where millions of swiftlets make the cave their home. After cave, transfer to Lahad Datu and proceed towards the Danum Valley Field Center. Get registered upon arrival at DVFC reception, and followed by an informative tour at the ‘Exhibition Gallery’. Following lunch, take a break or opt for a self-guided walk along the 500m nature trail for an introduction to the rainforest. Keep watchful eyes around and the area abounds with wildlife and is common to spot Orang Utan, and other animals. Following dinner, take a ride for a night drive in search for wildlife.

Lace up your hiking boots and start your morning in an exhilarating trek to Rhino Pool, this captivating adventure takes you through dense jungle foliage, babbling streams, and ancient trees, immersing you in the wonders of the rainforest. As you reach Rhino Pool, a tranquil oasis nestled amidst the lush surroundings, take a moment to revel in its serene ambiance and cool waters. Explore the hidden trails that lead to cascading waterfalls and secluded rock formations, and let the magic of this extraordinary experience in Danum Valley leave an indelible mark on your heart. Following lunch, go on a fascinating visit to the Old Burial Site/Coffin Trail. This intriguing journey will take you on a 1.7-kilometer trek from the Centre, leading you to discover the historical significance of the area. Delve into the stories of the past as you walk in the footsteps of those who came before.

Free and easy in the morning. Check out and transfer back to Lahad Datu Airport, for a short flight to Kota Kinabalu City. Enjoy an evening shopping at the street market and followed by a night out by the waterfront.
