Meet at your hotel in Sandakan and transfer to the jetty for a 1-hour boat ride to Selingan Island, part of Turtle Islands Park. Upon arrival, check in to your chalet and enjoy some free time—relax by the beach or take a swim in the calm waters.
In the evening, a ranger will guide you to witness a mother turtle laying eggs, the transfer of eggs to hatcheries, and, if you’re lucky, the release of hatchlings to the sea. This conservation-based encounter is a rare and memorable experience
After breakfast, return by boat to Sandakan. Proceed to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for the morning feeding session, where semi-wild orangutans return from the forest. Then walk over to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to meet the world’s smallest bear and learn about its rescue and rehabilitation.
