Camping Under the Stars

With the artificial city light and pollution dwindle the dark skies, reduces the chances to experience the magnificent stars at night. This 3 days camping trip tucked away from the buzzling city life takes you to experience the stunning night skies while camping out, being with nature, breathing the fresh cool night air and watching the stunning skyline.

Located at about 1,000 meters above the sea level, just at the outer-edge of Kinabalu National park lies a vast primary rain-forest with its abundance in biodiversity. Most of the campsites are dark sky friendly, ideally for nights out under the Milky Way and a chance to view the spectacular sunrise at early dawn. Mornings are fresh and beautiful, having to wake up to the sound of the calls of the cicada, crickets and just the sound of the forest itself makes you realise the thrilling feeling of camping out.

The drive for couple of hours into the rural of Sabah from the capital city would lead to the foothill of the crocker range, where a local village occupied a small area of the vast forest reserve of Kinabalu National Park. The overall hikes covers gradual hilly path with some steep slopes, therefore we this hike is recommended for those who are averagely fit. Activities throughout the trip includes crab catching at the nearby stream, bush cooking, sunrise hike and a cool refreshing dip at the small river. When nightfall enjoy a nice hot drink with a beautiful view of the Milky Way, should weather permits feast your eyes on the starry night lighting up the sky. A magical experience with the nature, which is ideal for couples, family with children and those just wanted to take a break from the city live.
