Gaya street back in the day known as Bond Street has been the root center of business for many years. The market started as early as in the 1950’s, all the marketplace were used traditionally, where all the goods were placed on the streets floor with covers or either on the table, just like nowadays.

If you’re planning to hunt for something, be sure to visit Gaya Street Market! You might find treasure along the way! It opens every Sunday as early at 6.30 am – 1.00 pm. This nice long stretch of street vendors, with their stall and over-sized canopies, are selling a variety of goods from local handmade handicraft to food and beverages, fruits, herbs & spices, range of retails, jewellery & accessories, varies potted plants & flowers, and many more! KOTA KINABALU CENTRAL MARKET
Just a few steps away from the handicraft market is the central market. Drop by one free afternoon and discover a new side of the world where you can find a lot of things such as food, clothes, fresh produce and more in this happening market! Tropical fruits of all sorts, fresh vegetables and poultry, everything can be found here.

HANDICRAFT MARKET
Another good place to go for Sabah shopping experience is the Handicraft Market! A prime spot for handicraft such as textiles, local handmade crafts, a traditional instrument, jewellery & accessories, and much more interesting goods where tourist usually hunt for souvenirs!
