Turtle Island and Orangutan – 2 Days

Meet at Sandakan airport or your hotel of stay and transfer to CQ jetty for Selingan Turtle Island. This boat ride will takes you about 1 hour. After lunch, gear up and head to the beach shore for snorkeling and to spot a beautiful marine life in the area. Alternatively you can just wander around or simply relaxing by the beach area. While waiting for dinner help yourself to watch the slideshow on the Selingan island and its turtle. After dinner, standby at the cafeteria and wait for the signal from the ranger before proceed in a small groups to the egg-laying site to see first hand the mother turtle laying eggs. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

Meals Lunch & dinner

Wake up early to catch for a breakfast. At 7.00 am depart from Selingan Island and return to the mainland. Proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Attend the video show about the rehabilitation ongoing efforts on the plight of the Orangutan, after which proceed to the Orangutan Feeding Platform. The plank walk takes about 10 minutes through the rain-forest, keep a watchful eye on some orangutans around the vicinity. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about conservation of the world’s smallest bear. After lunch we will get a drop off at the airport or your hotel in Sandakan.
