Venture for a day off-the beaten trek at Mount Alab for a day. As the trip takes you to the pristine primary rainforest of Crocker Range National Park, well known for its diversity of plants such as the Nepenthes and the Rafflesia. This climb offered to those adventure seekers and required you to have a very high level of fitness, tougher than Mount Kinabalu hike, as the Mount Alab trail is mostly a rugged terrain, and unspoiled! So don’t be surprise that you may have the jungle all to yourself, and though the hike is quite taxing but the views along the trail makes it worth it with the beautiful montane forest is one of the highlights.
Another highlight of the trip is the breathtaking Mahua Waterfall, take a chance to dip in the fresh cooling waterfall where its water came from the mountain.

Nature hike
Get pick up at 6:30 am from your city hotel, and head towards Tambunan for Mount Alab Substation. On arrival at the substation, while your guide get you registered feel free to take a walk around the beautiful forest reserve where tropical pitcher plants and orchids are growing wild at the surrounding the area. The hike takes about 12 km in total, with 6 km of steep hiking up to the summit of Mount Alab. Lunch stop at the summit, while enjoying the beautiful view of the pristine forest.
Proceed on toward Mahua Waterfall for about another 4 hours down hill, where you can enjoy a nice dip at the waterfall before heading back to Kota Kinabalu city. Expected to arrive your hotel by 6.30 pm.
