Kinabalu Pine Resort is a charming mountain retreat located in Kundasang. This resort is situated amidst a tranquil pine forest, offering guests a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms and chalets at Kinabalu Pine Resort are spacious and comfortable, with modern amenities and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The second night stay at the Pendant Hut, which is just a stone’s throw away from Laban Rata Rest House. A cozy dormitory-style accommodation with sleeping bag to keep you comfy and warm.
Embarking on a three-day mount Kinabalu climb with Via Ferrata is a thrilling adventure that promises to leave you with unforgettable memories. This trip offers a perfect blend of breathtaking scenery, challenging climbs, and adrenaline-pumping Via Ferrata experiences.
During the first day, you will trek through the lush rainforest and take in stunning views of the surrounding valleys before reaching your first overnight stop at Laban Rata Resthouse. On the second day, you will make your way to the summit, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the sunrise over the horizon. This is where the Via Ferrata adventure begins, as you traverse a series of rope bridges and ladders built into the mountain’s face. The third day will see you descend back down to the park headquarters and celebrate your successful climb.

Via Ferrata Route Mount Kinabalu FAQ Facilities
(Ideally noon time) Upon arrival pickup from the airport or any city center hotel and journey 2 hours to Kundasang Highland Resort stay. En-route stop at the local Nabalu Market to savour the tropical fruits found at this market. Continue on towards the Kundasang Pine Resort, checked in and free and easy while you enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountain.
Meals Dinner
After breakfast, meet up with your mountain guide after registration and you will be given a Climbing ID Tag, which you are required to wear throughout the hike. Remember to collect your packed lunch (inform us upon making your reservation should you have dietary restrictions). Later get transferred by the National Park shuttle to Timpohon Gate, to start your 6 km hike up to Pendant Hut.
Upon arrival at Pendant Hut, attend the mandatory via ferrata safety briefing at 3.30 pm (missed out on this briefing, you are not entitled to join the via ferrata activity the next day. Enjoy the stunning view from the mountain area while waiting for dinner, which is served in Laban Rata at 4.30 pm.

At 1.30 am and gear up, after taking your supper start the remaining 2.85 km journey with your mountain guide towards the Summit of Low’s Peak that is the highest point standing at 4095.2 meters.
*Reminder that for the safety of climber, Sabah Park has a cut-off time for the Sayat-Sayat Check Point at 5.30 am those arrived after 5.30am will not allowed to proceed with summit climb.
Watch and enjoy the spectacular shades of the sunrise over the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Take turns at the Low’s Peak summit for photos, always pay close attention to your safety when at the summit plateau. Next, head to the starting point of the WTT via Ferrata (introductory via ferrata, French grade PD) meet your via ferrata trainer at Sayat Sayat Hut @ 3,668 meter. All climbers must arrive at the Via Ferrata starting point before 7.15 am, climber who miss the cut-off time will not be allowed on the Via Ferrata.
Later descend back to the Pendant Hut for a well earned breakfast. Check out and hike down to Timpohon Gate where the shuttle will take you to the National Park, collect your well deserve certificate. Our transfer will take you back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu or at Kundasang.
