Keen mountaineers who are looking for a challenge and new adventure look no further, Mount Trusmadi located southeast of Kota Kinabalu City, with a recorded 2,642 meters, the mountain claims a second spot highest mountain in Malaysia. Many has claimed this Mt Trusmadi climb is even tougher than Mt Kinabalu. Please expect to get really mud dirty during the rainy season. Climbers can expect spectacular scenery with a very wide range of plants such as orchids and the Nepenthes.
Mount Trusmadi is located in Tambunan district. The journey roughly will takes you one and a half hour drive from Kota Kinabalu city center to reach Tambunan town and from there on another one a half hour to the starting point (Taman Kitingan) for climbing. This forest reserve covers an area of 184,527 hectares bordering four districts, which are Ranau up north, Tambunan on the west, Keningau down south, and Sook in the east.
Get picked up by our from your hotel at 12:00 PM and head for 1 hour and half through Tambunan. Proceed on to the Forestry Gate for Registration and Climbing Permit. At around 2 pm trek up to the Rest house for about 2 km. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, as you will see the changes vegetation from the Lower to the Upper Montane Forest.
Following an early breakfast at 1.30 am, embark for the 2.9 km trek up to summit of Trusmadi. Taking an approximately three and a half hour to the summit in hope to catch the amazing sunrise. Enjoy the nature around the trail, for the wild orchids and pitcher plants found in abundance here and some are endemic to Mt Trusmadi. Proceed on to your descend back to your Rest house for lunch. After lunch continue your final descend back to Mirad-Irad Base camp.

Soon after breakfast, journey back to Kota Kinabalu and expected to be back at your hotel by afternoon.
