The main objective of this Wildlife Park is to “create a family-oriented park that emphasize on making it educational for children”. Furthermore you can see few endangered species that has been rescued from illegal logging, hunting and disaster zones that made them lost their home!
Meet and greet at your hotel lobby. The drive towards the wildlife park will takes about 30 minutes. The 280 acres park is made of two major part which is the zoological and botanical part respectively, and it is fully manage by the Sabah Wildlife Department. The main objective of its establishment is to create a family-oriented wildlife park to educate the young children on the importance of preserving the wildlife. Among the main attraction are the Orang Utan, Proboscis Monkey, Pygmy Elephant, Malayan Tiger – to name a few.
A visit to the aviary section might worth it as you can observe a wide range of bird species like pigeons, hornbills, parrots, eagles, egrets and many more in one place. On the way back to city center drop by for lunch at the local restaurant for some local delicacies.
